Amy Smith sustained a broken ankle in Chester's 3-1 Cheshire County Cup win over West Kirby.
Smith went in for a 50/50 on the edge of West Kirby's box, which left her in agony after clattering her ankle off the defender.
Manager Martin Fitzsimons rushed onto the pitch to give medical attention to his player. The referee blew his whistle for half time as her treatment carried on through the interval.
The all-action midfielder was then soon accompanied to hospital by fellow player Katie Priest. The Seals' number 8 has a history of bad injuries as she is set to see out the remainder of the season on the sideline.
The former Crewe player has been in great form lately and picked up player of the match in her previous appearance. Smith will be a big loss for Fitzsimon, with her tenacious style of play an important factor to his sides success in the first half of the season.
Everyone at SealsTalk wishes Amy a speedy recovery. We look forward to you coming back and scoring more worldies like this one!
