Anna Jones made her first appearance for Chester FC Women in the quarter final defeat to Stockport County Ladies.
Jones came on in the 60th minute replacing Rachel Kelly and added quality to the Seals' midfield in her 30 minute cameo. The Welshwoman signed from Llandudno Ladies earlier in the week and despite only featuring for a small amount of time it was evident she can be a real asset for manager Martin Fitzsimons.
Chester were getting heavily outplayed by an impressive Stockport side who gave the Blues little chance. Jones' emergence into the game gave the Seals a little extra as she brought a silky presence into midfield as she often elegantly moved the ball around.

The midfielder caught the eye of fans as her second half display received a player of the match nomination but just missed out to Hannah Snape to the award. The boss was impressed with Jones' debut and says how she offers 'something different'.
"She looks really, really well' said Fitzsimons. "She gives us something different, she's a good runner with the ball and it looks like she can beat a player. She tried to get some crosses in the box as well which is something we don't really have at the minute, so it was good to get her on the pitch."
Jones will be hoping to push on and nail down a spot in the starting eleven. Next up for Chester is a return to league action with Didsbury set to take on the Seals at Ellesmere Port Sports Village, as the Blues look to get back to winning ways.
