After a valiant display, Chester exited the Argyle Sports Cup after a 2-0 defeat to Manchester Stingers, who play in a league above the Blues.
One of the key's to such a spirited performance on the day was midfielder Amy Smith, who was voted as the Seals player of the match, taking 40% of the vote.
A mix of superb link-up play with her fellow team-mates and some crunching tackles in the middle of the park set Smith as the player in manager Martin Fitzsimons' side.
Fitzsimons was incredibly pleased with Smith's display, someone who has a huge impact on the way Chester play on a weekly basis.
"Smithy she wears her heart on her sleeve," he said. "She’s a great kid.
"She’s a massive player for us, when she’s on her game everybody else plays well as well.”
The gaffer also spoke on how she impacts the team on and off the ball, running the game in the middle of the park for the Blues.
“We’ve spoken about trying to pick up the tempo of our play and she is crucial to that," he said. "She’s in that number 10 role giving and going with one-two touch stuff, and she was superb both doing that and out of possession today."
Fellow midfielder Ashleigh Bullock came in close second on the vote with 30%, whilst winger Rachel Lever and goalkeeper Liv Cooke each gained 15% of the vote respectively.
