"It's a tough one to take"admits Martin Fitzsimons

Chester FC Women's manager Martin Fitzsimons admitted dropping two points at Warrington Wolverines was tough to take. The Seals conceded an injury-time equalizer to draw 3-3 in a game in which they trailed twice.

Speaking to SealsTalk after the game Fitzsimons gave us his thoughts and reactions following Chester's draw and implications it has for the remaining four games of the season.

" Absolutely we felt we should win the game coming into it we knew what these were going to be about we knew what it was going to be like. It's always a tough game when we play them, always open flowing football the two teams try and play the right way. But especially being 3-2 up with minutes to go we felt like we should have won that.

"We could have done the dark arts of football if you like in terms of running the ball into the corner and trying to waste a bit of time but I think ultimately again it's been the story of our season we've been unlucky.

"The first one is a cross-shot that's looped over our keepers head and found it's way into the net. It's swings and roundabouts really you look at it we do need to protect our lead, but it's a bit of luck what's missing from us at the minute".

Again not for the first time this season Chester were sucker-punched for not taking their chances, despite controlling the possession they fell behind after a cross-shot looped over Emily Walker. But the Seals responded right on half-time Anna Jones scoring her third goal in three games to go in level at the break.

"That was a big goal for us it means we can rip up the team sheet and we can have a different spin on it. We're a bot more positive going into the second half and then I think that showed. I know we went 2-1 behind in the second half but we did that because we were looking to push and we felt we could get something out of the game more than a draw.

Anna Jones made it three goals in three games against Warrington, the winger has been a revelation since her move from Llandudno Ladies and the gaffer was more than impressed once more with her performance.

"Again I've got nothing but praise for the girl, she's been fantastic since she came in socially she slipped into the group like she's been there all season. She works hard which is a bare minimum for the club, she's got those standards which sets herself. You always know you're going to have a special player on your hands".

After going over three months without a goal striker Amy Broomhead made it two goals in two games something that Fitzsimons is extremely pleased about.

"You know what you're going to get with Broomy (Amy Broomhead) she's always going to work hard and lead the line as well as she can and cause problems for defenders. With her it's always going to be the case of when it comes, it comes. There's so much to her game rather than just goals we try not to put that pressure on her but as a forward, she's expected to chip in with a few goals here and there.
