It may have been a day to forget when the Blues suffered a 6-2 loss to Salford, after going two goals down early on.
However, speaking after his side's defeat to Salford City Lionesses, Chester FC Women's manager Martin Fitzsimons remained upbeat and praised his team's ability.
Despite a difficult first half display, Fitzsimons was pleased with the reaction in the second half and believes that on their day, Chester are a very tough team to beat.
"We know how we want to play and its just a case of executing that on the pitch," he said, "which we’re fairly inconsistent with at the minute.
"When we get it right, we’re very good and there’s not many teams in this league that can match us.”
From the game, you could tell that the Seals gaffer wants to play an attractive brand of football, looking to play out from the back and attack wherever possible.
However, the boss recognises that this can't be the only way his team play football, especially when they come up against a team as talented as Salford.
"We talk about playing out from the back but it’s when and where," says Fitzsimons, "it’s got to be the right decision.
"There are times we do encourage the ‘big boot’ to come out and we go long into the striker. We do like to play out as well and that’s another string to our bow that we feel we can deploy when needed."
The way Fitzsimons' side adapt to different teams in the league could be the key to ending up near the top of the table come the end of the season.
