Chester cruised through to the second round of the FA Cheshire Cup after a five-star performance at the Deva stadium.
The hosts had to wait to the second half to open the scoring, Sarah Gill making it two in two games, and substitute Amy Broomhead adding another.
It was then a brace from top scorer Rachel Lever and one from the other substitute Rachel Kelly to round off a classy performance from Martin Fitzsimons' team.
The Blues dominated from the first whistle, some nice interplay as Izzy Crooks played through Lever, but Hannah Conley in the Ashville net rushed out to stop the shot.
As the half went on, the Seals were left frustrated as they couldn't break down the Ashville defence, two corners in quick succession bundled away by the visitors.
The best chance of the first half came through Gill, 1-on-1 with the 'keeper who was equal to the first effort, at the second time of asking Gill placed it just wide of the post.
A final chance before the break came through Smith again, her one-two with Ashleigh Bullock resulted in another effort straight at the 'keeper.
Chester were no doubt frustrated to go in level, but the response inside the opening minutes of the half was just what manager Fitzsimons would have wanted to see.
Forty-five seconds in to the half, Bullock neatly laid it off to Smith on the edge if the area, her thunderous effort was expertly tipped on to the post by Conley.
However just moments later, the Blues finally got the breakthrough they needed.
Bullock again cutting through the Ashville midfield, and playing a perfectly timed through ball to Gill. A quick cut outside and her strike found the bottom-right hand corner.
Fitzsimons half-time team talk certainly worked for the Seals, who came out with a point to prove in the opening minutes of the second half.
Ashville once again had their goalkeeper to thank for keeping the score at 1-0, Smith with an incredible run through the defence and a low shot which Conley calmly collected.
The visitors finally gave Charlie Waring in the hosts goal something to do with 25 minutes to play, a speculative effort from Emily Turner easily claimed by Waring.
It was fresh legs in the second half that were the difference in the game, Chester introducing Broomhead to replace goalscorer Gill.
Broomhead then went on to make it 2-0, as she started the move with a lovely switch of play to Kelly. Kelly then returned the favour to the striker in the box as Broomhead converted from 10 yards.
This opened up the floodgates, as the hosts put the game to bed late on.
The next goal would be the first of two for Lever, Broomhead's effort deflecting to the feet of the winger who looked up and slotted it home past Conley in the Ashville goal.
Lever then grabbed her second of the game as Crooks delivered a beautiful scoop through ball to split the defence, Lever applying the finishing touches to seal a brace.
Finally, the second substitute Kelly made it five, a free-kick from long range which flew past Conley and into the net at the Harry McNally terrace.
