Chester FC Women manager Martin Fitzsimons was left ‘frustrated’ with the postponement of his sides match against Didsbury Ladies.
“It was very frustrating” said Fitzsimons. “I think we knew it was going to happen at some point, but it’s one of them. To get it called off as late in the day as well, so we were already going through our match preparations, players had already set off. It’s frustrating but that’s almost the level we’re at, at the moment.
The Chester gaffer is prepared to take on the backlogged fixtures, but the boss is wary on how many members of the squad will be able to make the eventual rearranged midweek fixture.
“We’re hopeful we will be able to sort it out. We’re quite fortunate in a sense that our home games are on 3G, so pretty much whatever the weather we will get our home games on. But then we go and play away the teams that play on grass, it can cause a lot of complications which means all our midweek games will be away.
“At our level there is players who have full time jobs it causes complications in getting themselves a way from work and getting there on time. Also, pre-match preparations are affected as well.”

Warrington Wolverines dropped points at the weekend as the Cheshire sides battle for third spot. The Blues manager is confident his side can end the season strong as the belief in getting top three remains strong.
“Yeah that is important for us, we said at the beginning of the season that top three is the bare minimum for us. Obviously, we were pushing for promotion and that’s looking increasingly unlikely now, but nevertheless we’re still going to go hell for leather for it and push as close as we can to that.
"Top three is definitely still in our reach and we’re confident we can get that but obviously there’s a lot of games still to play and that game against Warrington is looking increasingly important.”
The rearranged Didsbury game has yet to be scheduled in, but it’s likely to be a midweek fixture. Next up for the Seals is a home tie against West Kirby, a team they knocked out in the cup in their last match.
