Chester FC Women crashed out of the Cheshire County Cup at the hands of a dominant Stockport County Ladies.
The Seals were hardly in the match and struggled to compete with a side who play their trade two divisions above the Blues. However, one player who can hold their head up high is Hannah Snape, who's talent and work ethic was evident, as she has been recognised as Chester's player of the match.
The 16-year-old shown her composure on the ball and rarely wasted possession, but even her contribution to the game wasn't enough for her side to avoid defeat.
Snape received 45% of the vote and beat her fellow midfielder Anna Jones by a slender margin, as Lucy Adderley takes third and Kim Sands in fourth.
The midfielder shown her class all afternoon and one particular move summed up her quality as she controlled the ball, turned past two players and played an inch perfect pass through on goal to Rachel Lever. That was a recurring theme of the game with the midfielder being the creative spark for the Blues.
Despite her age she played with real maturity and confidence and demanded the ball from her team mates as she continues her impressive performances. Unfortunately for Chester she is unable to commit herself to playing every week as she splits her time between two teams.
As well as Sunday's player of the match, debutant Jones looked like a player with real ability, who can create a formidable partnership in the centre of the pitch with Snape. Manager Martin Fitzsimons will be hoping to get the two of them playing together as much as possible as the Seals now focus on league action.
Snape will be hoping to maintain her level of performances and guide Chester to a top three finish, with her side currently sat in fourth place one point behind Warrington Wolverines.
