Chester FC Women manager Martin Fitzsimons admitted the performance in the 6-2 victory over Didsbury Ladies had been a long time coming. The Seals recorded their first win in four games last time out in convincing fashion.

Speaking to SealsTalk after the game Fitzsimons gave us his thoughts and reaction following Chester's brilliant win.

" A really good performance it's been a long time coming, we've had the performances but we've not had the goals to show for it. But today we managed to put both together and yeah we came out the right side of the scoreline".

Not for the first time this season Chester found themselves a goal down yet controlling possession and creating clear cut chances, but the Seals showed their fighting spirit to turn the game around and lead 2-1 at the break. Even though Didsbury levelled at 2-2 shortly after half-time Chester had far too much for their league counterparts scoring four unanswered goals.

" We said that at half-time it's been the story of our season really, we play well take the ascendancy in games and then we end up 1-0 down. But the character the team showed to get back into it and ake it 1-1 the score pretty much on half-time we were really, really pleased with and we were good value for the lead".

Chester forward Amy Broomhead had been enduring somewhat of a goal-scoring drought of late having failed to find the net since her double from the bench against Wythenshawe back in November. But against Didsbury the drought was over after being played through one v one Broomhead kept her composure to end the run stretching to almost ten games.

" I don't think I've celebrated a goal more this season she deserves it, she worked really hard and everything she does she produces quality so I'm really pleased for her".

New signing Anna Jones was awarded her first start after impressing from the bench in the defeat to Stockport County, Jones returned the favour after scoring twice in the game something that Fitzsimons was very pleased with.

" She's a fantastic player it's testament to her because she travels a long way, so it's also a testament to the club for the fact she's willing to travel and she's a quality player. She got her two goals today which she more than deserved and she could have a had a few more as well".
