Martin Fitzsimons: We're hopeful of getting it through this week

Chester FC Women Manager Martin Fitzsimons reveals the club are getting closer in securing the services of Anna Jones from Llandudno Ladies FC.

The 24-year-old winger will give much needed reinforcement to Fitzsimons, who was only able to name one subtitute in the weekends 1-1 draw with West Kirby, due to injures and unavailability.

Top goalscorer Rachel Lever missed the game due to injury and Jones could slot into that position, as Fitzsimons says she could make her debut as early as the Stockport County Ladies game in the Cheshire Cup.

"We're hopeful of getting it through this week, we're just waiting on international clearance now. We're hoping that will be through for the Stockport County game."

If the transfer can get over the line Fitzsimons will be hoping Jones can bolster his attacking options, as the Seals battle away in the league and cup.
