Chester FC Women close out the year with a friendly away at The New Saints Ladies. With a winter break up coming Chester look to end the first half of the season with a win against a very good TNS side at Park Hall Stadium.

The Seals were initially scheduled to play Burscough Ladies, but with their withdrawal from the league, an exhibition match with The Saints was organised for this coming Sunday in it's place.

The Blues look to bounce back after last weekends disappointing 2-0 loss at home to Altrincham, which was their first defeat at home this season.

Chester Stats:

Chester's last away game was a dominant 5-3 win against Wythenshawe AFC, with Amy Broomhead's quickfire double from the bench securing the win for the Blues. However, the Seals have struggled away from home this season picking up just the two away wins all season.

Last weekend's defeat seen Chester drop to fourth in the North West Womens Regional League - Division One South. Warrington Wolverines jumped up to third, a point clear with a game in hand. Warrington salvaged a draw against Chester recently, as Martin Fitzsimons' side relinquished a 2-0 lead, which could be a poignant moment as the sides battle for position in the league.

Chester will hope to put together a successful cup run as after the winter break they have back to back cup games against Manchester Stingers (Argyle Sports Cup) and West Kirby (Cheshire Cup). A victory against TNS will be a perfect result to give the ladies confidence going into the big January fixtures.

The Opposition:

The club were originally called Llansantffraid F.C before merging with Oswestry Town FC in 2003 and renamed to 'The New Saints' three years later.

The male side, who unsuccessfully applied to play their home games at Chester City's Deva stadium in the 2010/11 season, have won an unprecedented 13 league titles, including 8 on the bounce.

As for the ladies side they will be aiming for success of their own this season as they currently sit third in the FA FA Women's National League - Division 1 Midlands. The Saints are four points off leaders Wolverhampton Wanders, while goal difference separates TNS and Bedworth for second place.

TNS Ladies have won the Shropshire FA Tom Farmer Cup 11 times. Last season a 9-1 win over Shifnal Town in the final clinched the cup for the Saints.

Chester will have to be on top form to keep the inform Kim Bebbington quiet as she has recorded eight goals this season and is in the hunt for her league's golden boot.
