Chester FC striker Sarah Gill credited the team's response in the second half to score five goals in forty five minutes in Sunday's FA Cheshire cup first round win against Ashville.
Gill now has back-to-back goals for the Blues, scoring the second goal in the 2-2 draw vs Warrington, playing a pivotal role in keeping Chester unbeaten at home this season.
The Seals forward spoke after the win at the Deva stadium, and was very pleased with result to send her team in to the second round.
"It feels really good to get the win," she said. "It was quite frustrating in the first half, I feel that we should’ve been up a couple of goals.
"We then came out at half time fighting and it's really good to get a win on the back of last week's game where I feel we probably should’ve won that as well."
Gill has been pleased with her recent performances, which have seen the Blues pick up and win and a draw from their last two games.
However, she expressed her frustration at the fact it was just the one goal scored for herself in the convincing display on Sunday.
"I had a few near misses in the first half but it was really good to put one in," she said. "If I remained on the pitch I would like to think I would’ve scored a few more. But the team went on and scored plenty more after that.
"It was really good to see quite a few girls getting on the score sheet and get the win that we really needed."
The striker's performances have been greatly appreciated by Chester FC manager Martin Fitzsimons.
He believes that Gill is pivotal to the way the Seals play, leading from the front and opening attacking opportunities for the team.
"She’s going to be an invaluable player for us (this season)," he said. "She gives us another dimension rather than just running in behind all the time.
"She gives us that ability to be able to hold the ball up and bring other people in to play."
No doubt Gill has been integral for the Blues and Fitzsimons will look to utilise her to bring success for the team as the season continues.
