Chester have been in impressive goal scoring form this season with 33 goals in 12 games.
The Seals have registered 28 goals in the league, but have had six goals deducted off their goal difference as Burscough Ladies have dropped out of the league.
A five goal haul in the cup against Ashville Ladies FC boosted the Blues' tally as they took advantage of the gap of quality, against a side who is two divisions below.
Where have the goals been scored?
The Seals have recorded 17 goals in five league games at home (Ellesmere Port Sports Village) and five at the Deva Stadium, which came in the first round of the Cheshire Cup.
The recent 5-3 away win at Wythenshawe has significantly boosted Martin Fitzsimons' sides away record with 11 goals in six games.
A spread of goals
Ten players have all got their name on the score sheet this season. It isn't just the Strikers who are having all the fun as the midfielders are all chipping in too. Runs from deep off of target women Sarah Gill have allowed the likes of Ashleigh Bullock and Amy Smith to improve their tally's.
Similarly, the Seals wing play has been impressive with electric pace getting in behind which has been a staple of Chester's play all season.
The Seals have been a massive threat from set pieces this season, an area centre back Lucy Adderley has prospered and got herself several goals this season.
Who's leading the goal scoring charts?
Rachel Lever- 8 Goals
Left winger Rachel Lever has found the back of the net on eight occasions this season, two goals coming in the cup. The talented midfielder opened her account with four goals against Wythenshawe and backed up her performance the following week against Altrincham, gaining her side a point.
Lever has been a threat all season drifting in from the left and running through on goal, something she executed perfectly against Salford. She's proved her natural goal scoring ability and that their is another side to her game by being a presence in the box.
Her brace against Ashville was a prime example of this. Lever has made no secret she expects to win every time she steps on the pitch and her goals have spearheaded the Blue's on this season.
Who else is scoring the Goals?
Lucy Adderley/Sarah Gill- 4
Defender Adderley and striker Gill both have four goals this season. The veteran forward has been a handful for defenders all season and proved why she deserves to start as Chester's number nine.
Gill got an important goal against league table toppers Salford City Lionesses and made it two in two games the following week against Liverpool Feds.
Amy Smith/Amy Broomhead/Ashleigh Bullock- 3
Gill has some serious competition with Broomhead itching to be Chester's main woman up top. 'Broomy' got her first goal of the season at the Deva on Women's Football Weekend and backed it up with a brace the following week.
Her willingness to get in behind has been influential and proposes a different threat to Gill's classic number nine style of play. With the support of Izzy Crooks controlling the game in the middle of the park, who has the ability to pick out her teammates with defence penetrating passes. Don't be surprised if Broomhead chases down Lever's lead at the top of the scoring charts in the second half of the season.
Smith and Bullock have been stand out players this season, both players can create and score. The fluidity in their play is a pleasure to watch, as both ladies have managed three goals this season.
Bullock was 'buzzing' to score a brace against Whythenshawe, which kick started Chester's dominant 5-3 win. Smith also got herself a goal in that game as she has consistently chipped in over the course of the season, even if she believes she needs to work on her shooting.
Will anyone catch Lever?
With the winter break amongst us, Chester Women will have no matches until the cup game against West Kirky on the 19th January.
Lever has been the main source of goals this season, but the likes of Broomhead and Smith have been in good goal scoring form as of late.
You can also never rule out player/coach Gill who will fancy herself to significantly add to her tally in the second half of the season.
Then there's Adderley, an unlikely source of goals this season, but with the threat she possesses on set pieces don't back against her getting more goals in 2020.
It'll be interesting to see what happens and who will end the 2019/2020 campaign as top scorer.
